Thank you for all your time and effort you put into this garden network community. I opened the email you wrote over in my offsite inbox, and came right over to KGI and dealt with my comment wall. Any more concerns, please come to me. Thank you. I wish you all the best,
Ian, could you please me some help in changing my profile photo. I'm not tech-savy like some of our members.no computers in MY garden. I see no ADD or SAVE option. Thanks for your patience with this dumb ol country-boy. I'm doing the best I can to stumble around this site. But if things get too big and complicated, I'll just unplug this thing and say good-bye. I'm not scared of the heat or the sun like some folks. I hope you can help.
Ian,
I am new to key broads & blogs. However, I really like this one. I read a "FORUM" posted by Brook "BLACK EYE PEA CAKES" ON MAY 27, 2008 AT 3.34 PM ."France is pretty spare on peas". I am sorry, I missed the fact that your commented was made over A YEAR AGO !!!! Again I am sorry, Still if you want any peas let me know. I can not live with out them .
Ian,
I have lived in South Carolina U.S.A . all my life. I never heard of pea cakes. If you can not find black eye pea or red eye pea. I will call my seed company, if they can not or will not mail you in France, then I will.
Let me know if I can.
.....I think I've got it now Ian. thank you for your patience.still no grapes on my vines. year 4. the other vines(wild), have small green ones , about the size of peas now. I dont get it. thanks again.
Ian - what you could do is send out a message to all members that Chat is available - and that it is in the bottom right hand corner - that little Green Dot tells you that you are signed in! You are automatically signed in unless you change your settings - Members can also use the pop out feature of chat -
and there is a way to do Individual private chats as well -
I will practice on you - as I see you are in and on chat right now
Ian, seems to me,in the past, when I pulled up friends/view all, there was a green dot beside the member image if they were online. thanks my friend for your help.
Thanks for your message. I think this is an important website for folks who love to grow their own food, for themselves or others. I have sent info out about KGI to over 400 members of the North Carolina Agritourism Networking Association, most of whom are farmers who have agritourism activities as well as still grow produce for sale to customers.
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the follow up, checking to see if I can attend the September get together. Sadly, finances being what they are this year, I am unable to make it. Hopefully, there will be a next year's event and our economy will be in better condition.
I hope all is well with you and I applaud you for putting together the opportunity for KGI members to get together in such amazing surroundings!

Ian, Thank-you so much for you thoughts, they are much appreciated! And Yes, NY- is MUCH different than rural America! I will go check out your blog!:-)

Ok Ian, I have just been reading your incredible journey _on "Moving to France" I live in the states (FL) and my Husband and I really would like to maybe move or re-tire in Europe-We love Ireland, Austri and we are going to Italy this summer (Tusacany region) I have been to Paris-I loved it, being a artist -but wasn't quite the welcomed being a American :-(.ANyhow how do you like living in another country?
No- Ian, I am actually going to Italy & Hungary next month for my 21at ann.a suprise from my wonderful husband! , So ,France is not gonna happen this year!!! Wish I was independently wealthy!!!! I'd be there!:-)
Thanks, Kate, for posting what you've saved! How did the seed saving for everyone else go this year?
I saved seeds from several herbs that aren't ---I don't think--- heirloom varieties (fennel, dill, basil, flat-leaf parsley, cilantro) and some z...
Hello Sumitra, Thankyou for sharing your pictures. Your students are beautiful. I thought
of you the other day as I watched a documentary about Nepal on the television.
Hi Sumitra,
It is great to see your photos and bee hives.
Like you I long for equality for all people on this planet.
If all people could grow their own vegetables it would be a great thing.
It is very hard to know that lots of people do not have ...
My father-in-law Fred Pond died ten years ago. He loved his garden and I still miss him a lot
especially at this time of year when the seed catalogues start arriving. The Pond family lived
on a seven acre homestead of sorts in Westford Massachuset...
I think this might need it's own category, don't you? Tomatoes are one of the most popular things to grow and we've been placing them in all kinds of groups, but the fact is we almost all grow them, and they have specific needs.
The cooking shows are entertaining, but that's all. Some of my favorite recipes started with notes handed down from family. They're still as good as ever. James Beard, Joy of cooking, and Professional Chefs Manural are good references. I have over...

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have. This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.
I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
Hi Everyone, I've started to collect together recipes from various posts on the site and put them all together here.

Apologizes for taking so long to respond. Just crazy busy around here.
Was also trying to figure a way to say yes to the invitation to attend the meet-up...but isn't looking good for that.
Hubby has not retired as of yet and we have no help on the farm this summer.
Just too many comittments to take a break until next year.
I'm sad, was so looking forward to the experience.
If....things should change I will inform you and would of course expect to stay somewhere nearby...if possible.
thanks so very much
