Kitchen Gardeners

I have been away awhile. My husband just got out the hospital a couple days ago and I am behind.
He had surgery for a colon tumor...will be having ongoing chemo treatment soon.
EVERYONE~~have your colonoscopy done. It is a breeze apart from the large volume of liquid you have to drink. It may save your life and much sorrow for your loved ones!
See my husband's message on AmemricanChronicle.com on this!

That is so true. Of all the things everyone carries around with them in life it is the hurts and the blessings we remember the most. I try to not hurt anyone intentionally and if I do accidentally I say sorry and I also try and be a blessing.

someone shared this with me today~~
'People will forget what you said,
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel'

How true this is~~think about it!
Hope this finds everyone enjoying this lovely time of the year!

Thanks for your kind expressions of concern....Patrick is doing well so far...finished round one of chemo and has #2 next Wednesday. He had some minor nausea but the meds took care of it. Hopefully it won't too bad in the future!
It is still pretty hot and humid here in Florida but coming down a little. At least my roses are beginning to show signs of revival. I am going to see if I can get them to bloom since I didn't get much in the Spring, thanks to all the rain and early heat!
Fall is my favorite time, probably won't get to go to Tennessee this year though. I just love the Fall colors and fresh crisp air! I should live up there somewhere on a plot of land...just a few acres with a little stream running through it!. If I ever win the lottery, guess where I'll be bound! I really don't care much for Florida!

Thank you Barbara. We do need to be more diligent about our health. I offer you my hope that your husband will have a quick and complete recovery.

I had my first colonoscopy this year. It was less traumatic than I think I expected it to be. One moment in pre-op they were asking me to roll over, and the next, I was waking up in post-op. Oh, and I got a good report.

I don't eat turnip greens but some people use them in a mixture of other leaves i;e.mustard, fenugeri ,spinach and turnip greens. These leaves are collected when very young, the variety is also different.

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
