Hi there! I've been away from KGI for several weeks. Busy with many other things right now. I'll be on again soon, I hope, and I'll catch up with you then. For now, Chao!

The "Sharon" I mentioned is no longer in our network, Rawzi. Appeared and gone in a day or so, just trolling.

You're welcome. I had no idea someone was harrassing this social network, I never saw them. I have gotten under stress from people acting cruelly online before. Maybe I made a mistake in response too in those cases, IDK. We just do our best under any given circumstances.

Thank you :)

thanks Rawzi, seems this was a fluke of the internet. everyone gets a bit skittish when things are mystifying.

Welcome to our little community.

Hi Rawzi,
Thanks for your explanation.
I apologise for the misunderstandings. As Michelle has explained, we have been hit recently by several new members pushing their own agendas to the detriment of the community and as Site Administrator I am charged with trying to keep the community on line.
You have certainly answered the concerns I had quite satisfactorily.

Thank you

Just got your friend request. Let me know when you get to Atl. Shouldn't have a problem finding those specifics here. Many like-minded folks in our area.

Thank you RawZi, for your kind patience with us, and especially, your polite response to the "situation". Kudos to you!

Hi Rawzi (now officially known to me as a woman). (teehee). We've had a few folks join and really mess with us, the last, not too long ago, so some folks get edgy and suspicious (not speaking of the two ladies specifically who left notes on your page). I don't think we're used to people who are members of many or numerous sites and don't get immediately and deeply involved here. We're really like a family and we get to know each other pretty quickly. Nobody heard anything from you after you joined, and I guess that added to the "concern". Anyway, welcome to our site, and I hope you will enjoy it here. It's very possible to get past this little misunderstanding and have a great time. Personally, I hope to hear more from you! God bless you too! :o)

Hi Michelle,

Frankly, I was baffled at first. I just signed on right now. It's 5:27 AM on the East Coast (US) July 30. I started reading the comments from bottom to top. I am a member of many other ning social communities and other company's internet social communities, and I always get and got nice welcomes. Also the fact that I have not made any infraction as far as I know. While I was on my page just after I signed up about a week or so ago (whenever it was) I clicked the edit button just above the photos bar/box. For display I clicked slideshow. For "From" I clicked From this Network. I tried clicking "Random", but that choice did not produce anything. Just under my avatar, you can click Photos and also click Photo Albums. Even though there are 5,526 photos AFAIK in the slide show just above this, there are none of those in my photos, nor ever were. When someone clicks these things, do they ask permission of all 2,984 members first? I don't mean to be sarcastic, but don't worry Joy Williams and Carol. The reason I signed in was because I was checking my offsite email, and I saw one from someone named Ian. I have a very good friend named Ian, so I thought it was from him. Turned out it was from Ian KGI moderator informing me:

Several members have tried to elicit a reponse from you about the use of their photos and blog posts.

Please advise me why you have chosen this action or I shall have no alternative but to ban you from all NING based communities

Ian

Site Administrator

Well, my answer is above. Apparently I can still change it, as I am not kicked off the site. I'll change it when I get a response to this (that makes sense).

Thank you Michelle for your caring comment. It's good to know there are sane people on this site, in addition to my friend Chris. By the way, I am female.

Love and light,

-RawZi

Rawzi is not breaking any rules by posting other members' pictures on his page without permission. KGI is a public posting area, and photos are added with the knowledge that they will be shared. There is even a place on KGI where we can keep our favorite photos (including those of other members). I too have kept members' photos that I like and admire. If we deny Rawzi this right, then we have to take it away from all of us.

Ladies, please be nice about this instead of confrontational. Delete your angry and inappropriate comments from this page and leave a polite message asking Rawzi to remove your personal pictures and not post any more of "yours" without permission. But do not speak for everyone in this community and forbid him all of these photos. That is an individual decision each member must make. Frankly, it wouldn't bother me if he took some of my photos the next time I post, and I'm sure he will.

We do occasionally get members with less than appropriate agendas. If Rawzi has committed an offense it is a small one. But frankly, I don't see the offense. Please think about the way you are representing this community with the comments you are leaving on this page. I've already made this mistake myself with another member, and I learned. I'm cautioning you to think about this before you risk becoming the offenders.

Please don't put other people's pictures on your page without their permission. Your lack of response is also a bit creepy.

How did my pictures end up on your page? I'm rather mystified!

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
