Hi mgw. Welcome to KGI. This is a great place filled with great people who focus on and share their experiences in gardening. From beginners to experts, young and old, and in-between, there is a wealth of gardening knowledge to draw from. There are many blogs and forum discussions filled with interesting information about gardening, and I hope you will take the time to look through them.

We even have an "Events" section (see menu at top of page) where events can be listed for all to see. And there are many photos to admire and leave comments on. Folks here love to get and give comments about their photos, gardening questions, blogs, and discussions. The comments are what bring us together as a community and encourage the development of friendships.

I've read your three discussion posts. They are interesting, but largely repetitive in that they are all promoting the same thing. Several people at KGI have particular issues they like to promote. They are best presented to the group as a blog, or a separate and single discussion. You'll see a more focused response to what you are saying that way. Often, if a discussion on a particular subject is popular,it (even quickly) leads to the development of a group that focuses on that issue. Folks who share that interest, join the group, and discussions about that issue are posted there. (Those discussions automatically become part of the larger forum discussion collection.)

I hope you enjoy your experience at KGI. It's a really great place to be if you love gardening. Ian (of France) is our website administrator. If you have technical questions he can help, but then, so can many of our members who are tech savvy, or have been here long enough to learn how things work!

Welcome, and best gardening wishes!

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.

Hi Everyone,  I've started to collect together recipes from various posts on the site and put them all together here.
