Forest gardening on a small scale

Gardening is the activity who makes me happy. Long time I look for the ideal place in harmony with what I am to day. It must be a place easy to reach, calm, intact nature, intimate, water always available, protect from to heavy sun and wind...magic and beautiful. Not necessary to be the owner...guard is enough. It's dreadfully expensive to buy a little piece of land for a garden here.

Hi de Moffarts Eugene,
How is the weather in your part of France? It is cooling off here in South Carolina, U.S.A. Still like that water fall of yours! Take care, have fun & laugh a lot.

I love the tree frog picture. I know it's Spring when I come home from work and roll down my car window and hear the 'peepers' - it's one of my favorite sounds - it signals planting time is just around the corner.

I can't believe how well your pumpkin and watermelon are doing in the midst of the forest. I always thought they needed extreme amounts of sunlight. Maybe next year I will try to grow mine in the shadier areas of my yard. I love that you are growing in such a free form way. It blends beautifully with the surroundings.

Hi Eugene
Its a very intersting place that you garden in. You are in the Pyrenees mountains. It looks to be totally different from most other peoples gardens, mine included. What altitude is your garden? Do you get any frosts in winter?
The photograph with the waterfall looks really nice.

I can't wait to visit France again--we used to be able to go more often when we lived in London (my husband also used to work in Paris for a few years) but now we are back in the US + we have a baby who doesn't fly well! Someday.

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
