Vegan organic gardening is a way of growing plants without adding any animal products, except what nature adds by herself. This is a place where people can describe their method of vegan organic gardening, exchange ideas and give advice to others.

I had not heard of this new link of cell phone towers to CCD, but I believe that CCD is caused by a number of different things and is mostly limited to large scale professional beekeepers that put their bees on large semi-trucks and haul them all ov…

I think increasing pesticide usage, both in commercial agriculture and in home lawn use is playing a much larger part than cell phones. I read lots of articles written a few years ago claiming this cell phone issue as the cause of colony collapse...…

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. Your greenhouse sounds wonderful. We've had a pretty cold spring so far, even a few snowflakes this week! My root crops and peas are in and growing a bit, although stray cats dug up half of two rows. Annoying! My daughter and her family are going to a conference in Crete at the end of May; they're really excited. Take good care, happy spring, Penelope

I work myself with the help of a gardner and my kids. Well we have four sesons; extreme hot and extreme cold. In winters we do have lots of frost and sometimes heavey hailstroms. Our city Islamabad is located at the foot hills of Marghalla and Murree hills where heavey snow fall takes place during winters.
This is the period full of challenges, saving off season veges in a tunnel, such as tomattoes, chillis and eggplants is quite a difficult thing, but i do enjoy.

Hi well İ have been here now for 4 years. Shame about your oranges. The turks grow lots of olives and İ have picked them, sorted them and then pickled them. What they seem to do here is to cut each olive and then soak them in water changing that water every day for about 1 month. After that period of time most of the bitterness should have left and then you can put into a brine solution. You can add lemon or other flavors if you want and they store like that for along time. You can also place the olives under a layer of salt and as the salt disolves keep topping it up. You do that for about a month also. İts easy to do and worthwhile. Good luck with your harvest.

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again
