Then as you say if I time it wrong and get the humidity they just rot and die. I will continue to try though, that is one of the things we really miss!

Do you grow gemsquash there? your climate would be similar to what I have here. I thought the winter would be the best time to plant them as our summers are very humid and hot. I planted some seeds, and they have come up but the plants look a little puny. There are flowers, but they just seem to be male flowers so far.

Here in suburbia a lot of dogs are locked up all day while their owners work. We walk our dogs daily but I am sure they would be happier in Scotland retrieving ducks and splashing through paddocks.
