I would like this group to focus on kitchen herb gardens, be they culinary or medicinal. What do you grow, what do you use it for, do you make any medicinal products from your herbs?

Hi Sunnie - I am quite impressed with your pictures. How did you make the light thingy??? Very inventive! Come and check out my group, Back Yard Kitchen Herbalists! We have a book review group too you might be interested in.
Looking forward to hearing all about you!

Hi, Sunnie -- My problem is that I love to grow everything -- I have a hard time narrowing it down. I guess if I had a favorite combo, it would include a vegetable, an herb, a trailer and something tall. I have a lot of fun experimenting and I have a weakness for the "remainder" plants that are marked off for some reason or another. What are you growing on your balcony? By the way, you might want to check out lifeonthebalcony.com -- great site, lots of good info and photos.

Hi Sunnie,

Your container garden is beautiful! Yes, I think you are right...that it will be warm this weekend. Yesterday I was sick and had to stay home from work. In the early afternoon I walked out to my backyard for some fresh air and peeked at the thermometer in my little greenhouse. It was 100 degrees!! Just a little bit of sun yesterday generated that much heat! I'm very excited about having a garden this summer.

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
