- Hi Sandra. I noticed you were wondering what shallots are. They are small and oblong/elongated. They are like garlic, in that they form in clusters. Skin color varies, but is most often a golden brown. The flesh is off-white. They are firm and sweet, aromatic, and yet pungent, full of flavor. They're related to the onion, but are sweeter and milder. When slicing, they can make you cry, just like onions. Plant in early fall, harvest in mid-summer. Hope this helps.

- Gnochi is where you boil whole potatoes - grate when cool - then add a couple of egg yolks and enough flour to make a soft dough. Do this while the potato is still warm. You then roll it out into a long thin sausage and cut into little sections then put into boiling water. When they float they are ready. Taste really nice-really easy to make also economical - serve with a pasta type sauce, salad etc

Then go back and highlight the link text.
Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.
Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message. Allow it and go back and highlight the text again
