I've been telling folks how good radish tops are, maybe now they'll believe me! (tee hee, as they say) Must say though, I have never cooked radishes. I love them raw, and have never really seen them as a warm food. But maybe I'll try it soon! Beau...

This could be a great opportunity to make a new friend. If you can, move your compost to a different part of the yard then ask him for his compostable materials.

Nice pictures, looks like things are growing great, but one thing I'd love to hear about is why this is an experiment.... Do post more pictures, I love watching things grow even if it is in cyberspace!

I have no idea why the silk is red- I've never grown corn before. I hope it's the varietal and not some problem with nutrients. I have actual ears, though, so I must be doing something right!

Updating My Gardening Experiment

In case you missed my earlier post, let me bring you up to speed. After growing a garden last year for the first time, I wanted to expand my garden this year. Last fall, I spread newspaper on a section of my lawn and covered that with raked up leaves. I let that sit for the winter. This spring, I spread out some more newspaper and covered it with grass clippings. Go to my earlier article and you can see pictures posted showing this process.… Continue

I Need a Break

I need a break today. I couldn't even finish the newspaper this morning. The bad news just keeps coming and coming. My car wouldn't start and it was 4 below zero this morning. I need a break from all the bad news and I wouldn't mind a break from winter.
To get my mind off things for a moment, I started going through some pictures that I had taken last summer and I came across this one,

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
