Mark, I understand your questions and motives - market research. Every IMer's advice is the same - find out what people want and then give it to them. Perfectly sensible. What you, or my Gardening Coaches (Free) Resources pages, provide to reade...

Hi Mark. Welcome to KGI. This is a really nice web community. The people here are normally very friendly and love to chat about gardening - their own, and the topic in general. We usually get to know each other and make friends by leaving comments everywhere - on blogs, photos, personal pages, and forum discussions.

The discussion you posted immediately after joining isn't getting a good reception from the membership. This is because occasionally people join our web community in order to promote specific products or philosophies. "Miss Collins" below, is the rare pornographic example. The methods these people use is often relentlessly intrusive. They take advantage of the general membership's politeness and get away with it far longer than they should before we put our collective "foot" down.

Recently, we had to deal with several of these types at once.It put a real strain on this community, as the worst of them pushed us very hard to our limit, and finally had to be banished - literally, a day ago. Our community is still very bruised from this. We haven't had any time at all to recover, and some are very wary of newcomers bringing personal agendas.

I don't know if you are legitimate in your presence here at KGI or not. I hope you are. If you are, I hope you will stick around while our bruises heal. We really are a good group of people, friendly, and open. If you aren't legitimate - if you have no intention of becoming an active part of this community, you might do well to close your discussion and leave quietly before things get nasty. But as I said, I really do hope you are here to become a viable member of this community. So again, I say, Welcome!

Hi Mark, welcome to KGI. I'm sure you'll find the site interesting, we're a pretty friendly bunch. You'll find all manner of discussions in the forum (follow the link in the top navigation bar) and there is also a notes section where I can put stuff that may be of interest to members. At the moment there are one or two "how to" articles and a whole range of recipes. (follow the notes link)
If there is anything I can do then please, just leave a message on my page

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
