Thanks, Joel. I have found places in the U.S. where I can order it but getting through customs here can be lengthy. I was just hoping for an EU source.

Hello Lakeecha,
How are you maintaining your fig tree? Mine are the Kadota ( green ). Its just been put in his past winter. But I didn't take into account just how huge these things get. I planted it about 6 feet away from my persimmon tree (which went in the same time). Are you keeping it in a container?

Oops, forgot you wanted to know what grapes. Thompson's. No bunches this year. just put them in, one is in ground, one in container.

Well, the tomatoes are being put to use in salsa and (with the basil) bruschetta. I have to try to grow flat leaf parsley and cilantro next year. Garlic will be the next years trial. Perilla is an interesting herb. I tried it with a korean style of marinating it in soy sauce and hot chiles with a bit of sugar. Its eaten with rice as a type of condiment relish. The corn was very nice bit itself but I think I wont do it again.Too much water and too little pay off.
The citrus are in containers. I haven't the courage to stick them in the ground here. They have had masses of flowers except the satsuma mandarin which is just a bunch of leaves.
The pitaya has not flowered yet.
The amaranth i have tried and its quite pleasant in stir fry but I didn't grow enough. the fig tree just was put in this year so its only had the summer fruit come in and its still a sapling. The persiminnon, I am training it to a festoon. No fruit yet. I am waiting for august to empty my raised bed and start my bokchoy and swiss chard and may be even spinach and radishes. cant wait.

Thanks for the welcome. I love the stuff thats here. I'm only just starting (melons, lemons, limes, tomatoes, amaranth, chilis, patayas, figs, grapes, basil, perilla, chives) but I can't wait to try other things.

HI Lakeecha, I love what you wrote in the "locavores" thread. As another newish, 38-year-old gardener, I was nodding along as I was reading it (I also had to eat everything put in front of me, too). Thanks very much for taking the time to write it. I look forward to reading more from you!

Love you pictures, by the way.
