Thanks for the pic. I was trying to find something that would work on one of my raised beds for a winter garden and this looks exactly like what I was imagining. Now to get my hubby to build it. ;)

Hi there! I really like the new pictures. Your garden is really looking great! I thought I saw tomatoes, peppers, and squash. Looks like you'll have a great harvest this year!

Ho! Kristina!
Thank you for inviting me as a friend. I think from reading your bio, that we have much in common. My yesterday was spent largely making white pine tea and packaging up salve to send to a friend in need that lives in Arizona (she stepped on a thorn and needs the salve to draw). I love what you and your husband are doing with your children! It is good to see young people connecting to the Earth and allowing their children to do so too.
I see you have been in the Sacred Gardens discussion, so you already know that my love is to work with the Medicine Wheel... that is my form of stress relief and spiritual "food". I love working with stones! It is a soul deep passion for me. My Native blood line is Seneca on my Grandmother's side & Algonquin on my Grandfather's side.. it is generations back, but strong in my veins. So, my gardening is evolving into one that honors the old ways as much as I know and can learn. I am taking classes with local herbalists and Grandmothers who are interested in passing on the lore. I am grateful they are! I can only afford to take a few classes, so I choose carefully.
Welcome to KGI... it is a wonderful community!

Hi Kristen,
That is so wonderful doing things like that with your kids in tow (and on the way) I sailed around the world for 14 years with my previous husband and two girls. Funny how little you actually need to survive, and how much you appreciate the bare basics! Take care of those wonderful little kids - they grow up way too fast!

Kristin, I've been admiring your photos, and they've really revealed a bit more about you. I hope you will consider adding a blog to this site about your life in Alaska and your transition to Pennsylvania.
I think many of us would love to hear about your gardening efforts in Alaska. Someone asked me just a couple of weeks ago if I thought people even garden in Alaska. Now we know. And you can tell us about your outside kitchen, and what it's like starting (gardening) all over again in PA, and how your children are adjusting... Please think about it.
We're not nosey, just curious!

Welcome to KGI Kristina - love your photos - and I cannot believe that you cooked outside all year round in Alaska! then again I live in tropical Australia so that is the other extreme!

Thank you for adding me as a friend Kristina. Boy, would I love to spend some time Alaska! I really like your garden layout, and the pic of the family in the garden. We have a great group called Gardening With Children. You should think about joining. There's also a group for Sacred Gardening. It was just formed 2 days ago, but is very popular already. Welcome to KGI. I hope you really enjoy yourself here. It's a great place to make friends.

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
