This is a good question, and especially timely for me because at the high point of the harvesting frenzy this year, I had a baby. So with this little guy now priority #1, I've really been forced to as myself if it is worth it, and no matter how ti...

I cut mine in half and set on a cooling rack on a sheet pan and then place in oven at 225 F for about 4 hours. I imagine the drying time might vary a bit depending on your climate's humidity (it was only 8% here yesterday). I take them out and let...

Hi again. Sorry to take so long to respond. I was offline for a couple of weeks over the holiday, and out of touch with everyone. Thank you for sharing your recipe for the strawberry tart. I'm going to file it away and save it for Spring when the strawberries are in. Strawberries are a favorite in my home, and I know everyone will love this tart! Thanks again. - Michelle

Hi Johanna. Welcome to KGI. Is that a strawberry tart? It looks delicious!
This is a really great website, and I hope you'll think the same before too long. Our members are professionals and amateurs, beginners and long-time gardeners. Some garden on acres of land, some on lots, some in containers, and at least one on her window sill! I hope you will take the time to peruse our membership. I'm sure you'll find members with interests similar to your own, and I know there are at least a few KGI members from Utah. Maybe one of them lives in your area. Do a search in the membership section and you'll find them.
We have a lot of great groups. Front yard gardening, Gardening in General, Container Gardening... some are specific to areas around the country. Join as many as you like.
The forum discussions are always interesting, informative, and fun to participate in. The blogs are also interesting and informative, and sometimes sentimental. Lots of folks post great recipes on their blogs. Maybe you'll share your recipe for that tart!
And the photographs are absolutely inspirational! Wait until you see what folks are doing with veggies!
Enjoy yourself at KGI, And, oh, leave comments! Anywhere and everywhere! Members really enjoy getting comments on their pages, blogs, forums, and photos. It's encouraging to give and get comments, and it's the best way we have to make new friends!
Best wishes, and Happy Holidays!

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
