Hi Jackie,
I see that you moved, so hope things are settling down a bit now. I seem to remember that you were somewhere around Townsville - is that right? We have been getting a little rain lately - it feels so good. Hoping to get a bit mroe this weekend as it doesnt look like the tropics anymore - it is brown and dry! Hope you are starting to get a bit of rain too. Take care

Hi Jackie!
Quinoa is a grain. I have never grown it, but purchase it at the health food stores. I like the crunchy feel that it can add to bread. There are other ways to use it, I am sure.
Oh, how exciting that you have a new home to garden! Fruit trees, I love them!! Mine are still pretty small, but I did get a couple of peaches and a few pears this year. My grape vines are starting to produce also! This was a poor garden year for us.. but there is always next year!
Good to hear from you!

Tee-hee!! All I can send you right now is pictures of frost!! We are keeping our fingers crossed that we do not get any snow for a few more weeks... but one never knows. Our weather looks like it will be unsettled for the next few days with rain likely. I am hoping to get the rest of the leaves blown off my private road before that happens. My neighbors have dubbed me "The Road Commissioner", as I am the one who gets her butt out the door and puts effort into making it better! Apparently, I have done OK, as they are now coming to me with offers of $$ to bring in new gravel and repairs. Sometimes a little effort pays off. I have a small tractor and use that to grade the road.
Ohhh! fresh veggies!!! Tell that hubby to save you some!! :) As we head for our darkest days, you must be approaching your longest light days? November is always so dreaded as the daylight is so brief.
Last night we went to see a movie and they were advertising one that is coming out soon about Australia. After chatting with you and Maggie... I want to go see it!!! It looked like it would be a really good action film.

Hi Jacqueline,
Thanks for the welcome. Wow, this little site really reaches around the world. I am just beginning, so I look forward to tips and help as I go about getting my organic mojo working here in Mass, and perfecting it for when I retire and can really use it to my benefit. Happy gardening.

I think this might need it's own category, don't you? Tomatoes are one of the most popular things to grow and we've been placing them in all kinds of groups, but the fact is we almost all grow them, and they have specific needs.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
