worst sunburn ever and heat stroke are about the badest of the bad in my gardening experience. its not so much the nature part of gardening that gets me but the drive to want to keep on and on and on when i know i should stop and rest a while. exc...

thank you so much for this advice! i am looking to start partnering plants and herbs, or plants and other plants, in my garden as space-savers and was wondering about this. i also heard the some types of sage can be harmful to other plants if plan...

well, if the ants are going to flowers, the aphid theory is probably correct. to get rid of aphids, use soapy water in a spray bottle, grab one of those fertilizer sprayer bottles you can attach to your house and add soap instead of fertilizer and...

slugs also love beer... and love to drown in it. if you have slug issues try a shallow pan of beer each night. i don't drink myself, so a tall can of beer last 4 applications for me. it's pretty cheap and doesn't kill plants. :)

i think it's potassium in the peels. i know they love it tho. and if you can stand it yourself, plant some garlic near your roses, it keeps the japanese beetles away if you take a clove and crush it around the base of the roses now and then. i hav...

Hi HeronoftheDarkwood, welcome to KGI. I'm sure you'll find the site interesting, we're a pretty friendly bunch. You'll find all manner of discussions in the forum (follow the link in the top navigation bar) and there is also a notes section where I can put stuff that may be of interest to members. At the moment there are one or two "how to" articles and a whole range of recipes. (follow the notes link)
If there is anything I can do then please, just leave a message on my page.

i am not really sure, i think my own yard is heaven, but i would like to visit gardens with fairy-type themes or shimsical cottage gardens to get future ideas. i don't know if i could ever have one final destination, because once i got there i would just want to go find another awesome flower-filled space. :)

Hello Sumitra, Thankyou for sharing your pictures. Your students are beautiful. I thought of you the other day as I watched a documentary about Nepal on the television.

Hi Sumitra, It is great to see your photos and bee hives. Like you I long for equality for all people on this planet. If all people could grow their own vegetables it would be a great thing. It is very hard to know that lots of people do not have ...

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
