- I've looked around for those Marie Antoinette melons that you asked about and not found a single reference to them. In my own yard, I like a variety called Sugar Nut, but it is a hybrid from the company Seminis. I am still looking for a reliable-yet-tasty heirloom melon that will do well in my yard. Sorry for not being able to help!

Katherine Turcotte said… - I am on almost an acre with enough wooded area to put hive - I have a huge old tree that is loaded with ivy and at the end of summer it is loaded with honey bees, I am always amazed how many bees there are that visit the flowers on the ivy. I think he would be pretty safe. So far so good.

Letti said… - Everett, am in Conway. Love the longer growing season, as a matter of fact I garden year round. I cover the beds when we expect frost. Three years ago I went to Grenada and got these seeds from my SIL. The summer that I grew them I saved some seeds which never germinated. I have been trying to get some since then. In the Caribbean community they are called seasoning peppers. They are full of flavor, with no heat and are great to add to salads or soups. I will remember to share some seeds with you if I ever get a hold of some. I have not grown "Fish" peppers. Do you grow them? Last year a friend gave me an African "bird" pepper plant. I am hoping the seeds I saved will grow.
Your pictures are great to look at and I love looking at what others are growing.
