Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.
I would be happy to hear any comments you may have. This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.
I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
Administration
You can refer any questions you may have about the site to me (Ian) just click on my photo wherever you see it to go to my page. I'm the handsome guy in a coat and red sweater wearing a traditional flat cap.
Courtesy
Whilst you are encouraged to take an active part in discussions. please always try to be polite and courteous. People have very many different opinions and we don't always agree.
English??
The vast majority of posts are in English but please remember we don't all speak the same English. In the US you drive on the pavement whereas in Europe we call the sidewalk, the pavement. In the US you call putting things in bottles, canning, whereas in the UK canning means putting things in metal cans. Be aware that these simple differences can confuse people and cause apparently strange remarks.
I for International
Please remember the I in KGI. We now have members in over 100 countries. Please try and incorporate this in your posts. If possible use alternates... for example in measurements... If you don't know the equivalents then don't worry but even a simple "I'm sorry I don't know the metric equivalent" makes the post far more internationally friendly.
Please try and say where you are. What happens in Northern Europe may not be the same as in South Australia. Embrace these differences
Product Promotion
Repeated promotion of products or services is not allowed. Please keep the discussions relevant. By all means mention a product or service that is on topic, but refrain from continually promoting the same ones.
Spam
The sending of bulk messages (Spam) to members is not allowed.

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....
First type the text you want to appear.... ie IAN'S PAGE
Then go back and highlight the link text.
Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.
Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message. Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Hi Everyone, I've started to collect together recipes from various posts on the site and put them all together here.
If you have a recipe you want to add on here, just post it on the site and leave a comment on my page telling me where it is and I'll go and fetch it back here.
They are organised in Contributor Order but I'm open to better suggestions!
