All the potatoes we've ever grown were certified seed potatoes. We were out in the potato patch yesterday, digging around. Only found a couple VERY tiny little guys before we decided to let them rest for a while. Maybe more through winter.
It's very strange.

You have to find out if they used potatoes from their own draw that they bought to cook with or are they certified seed potatoes, They could have had uneven watering, maybe they didnt wash them LOL.

ask those first.

Thank ou for the ?

Kristen,
We tried potatoes one year using stacked tires. They grew fantastically, but when it came time to harvest NOTHING was there!! I've heard other people have the same problem with the tire-method. Of course, for some reason we're having a hard time growing potatoes at all, but we're just weird like that.

hello,
i am a new KGI member and not sure if this is the right forum for this question. i have a small veggie patch in chicago and am interested in trying out potatoes this year. i believe there is a method to grow them in burlap bags to save space. can anyone offer any advice or references?

I have created a garden patch for making more compost. This time I am trying a new way (new for me) called lasagne gardening. Called that, because you layer it with paper, leaves, soil and leave it. No digging to create new spots

Joan - you may be interested in some information online about Portland Community Gardening. I think you can just google it - Beaverton has put together some guidelines that might be of interest in creating improved organization. Hope it helps!
