Event Description

The Monadnock Community Gardening and Seed Saving Initiative (MCGSSI), a program of the Sustainability Project, invites Monadnock Region residents to Green Energy Options in Keene on Tuesday, March 31 at 7:00 PM to talk about ways to bring people together and grow local food.

Topics will include:
-- Community Gardens: A piece of land is divided into garden plots which are rented to community members.
-- Garden sharing: Gardeners who have space sharing it with those who don't.
-- Produce-sharing: A group of gardening friends or neighbors exchange parts of their crop with each other so everyone gets a wider variety.
-- Tool banks: A repository of common garden tools, functioning like (and possibly hosted at) a library.
-- Gardening clubs: Vital local sources of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm.

If you have knowledge or experience of any of these things (especially locally), please come out to share. If you want to know about any of these things, please come out to learn. If there are other related topics you want to talk about, come let us know. This event is part of MCGSSI's monthly series of gardening talks.

Green Energy Options is located at 79 Emerald Street in Keene. For more information, email colintedford@gmail.com or call 357-0860. You can visit MCGSSI's online community space at http://my.kitchengardeners.org/group/monadnockseedsaversandgardeners.

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.

Hi Everyone,  I've started to collect together recipes from various posts on the site and put them all together here.

If you have a recipe you want to add on here, just post it on the site and leave a comment on my page telling me where it is and I'll go and fetch it back here.
